Entering Canada with DUI conviction

If you have been  convicted of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs then you may be inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality. You have two options available to you if you wish to enter Canada. 

1. To enter Canada temporarily

You can apply for a  temporary resident permit (TRP) could allow you to enter Canada temporarily. In order to obtain TRP you must prove that you have  valid reason for travelling to Canada. A fee of $200 Cad is applicable, however there is no guarantee that an TRP application will be successful and you will be allowed to enter Canada.

2. To become admissible again

You can apply for Criminal rehabilitation and you may  be able to become admissible to Canada again. To apply for criminal  rehabilitation  5 years must have passed since you completed your sentence or committed the crime.
